Kleine Olympiahalle

Auer+Weber | Website | 2011 | Visitor Information

Spiridon-Louis-Ring 11, Munich 80809, Germany

The new events hall allows for 4000 visitors and is built underground so that the large volume of the hall does not encroach upon the surrounding olympic buildings. The entrance, which simultaneously serves as a connecting path within the park, is by means of a cut in the landscape between the hall and the foyer, providing space for an additional 600 visitors. A tunnel construction connects the entrance area with the large olympic hall, where the new building can be used as a rehearsal and back stage area. The glazed east side allows for natural lighting of the performances areas.
