Shanghai XIan Dai Architectural Design (Group) Co. Ltd. | Website | 1994 | Visitor Information

1 Century Ave, Lu Jia Zui,, Pudong District, Shanghai, China

"

The Oriental Pearl Tower-Shanghai Radio and Television Tower is located in the Lujiazui area on the bank of the Huangpu River in Shanghai. It is separated from the Bund by the Bund. It is the intersection of Puxi and Pudong's new and old towns. It has now become a landmark building in Shanghai's urban landscape.

The tower body is a large-scale public building with multiple functions such as tourism, sightseeing, entertainment, shopping, catering, radio and television launch, sky hotel, space capsule club, etc. The total height of the tower spire is 468 meters, which was the first in Asia at that time and the third tallest in the world tower.

The proposal of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower passed through a design competition and multiple rounds of selection. Due to its novel and unique shape, full of contemporary flavor, architectural artistic expression, and coordination with the overall environment of the Lujiazui area, it finally overcomes various difficulties and won the bid.

The novel shape and the application of new technology and new materials make the Oriental Pearl Tower a perfect combination of architecture and structure, art and technology; it is full of the flavor of the times, rich in oriental cultural connotation, and reflects the modern high-tech level.
