The New Center Altona is a planned transport and urban development project for the reorganization of the Hamburg-Altona railway junction . The centerpiece is the decommissioning of the Hamburg-Altona terminus station and the expansion of the former S-Bahn station Diebsteich to the long-distance railway station . In the process, large track surfaces are mined and made available to urban development . These tracks include the station Altona with its track apron, the tracks of the former freight yard Altona, the facilities of the former railway depot Hamburg-Altona. The urban development project is carried out by the ECE project management to plans by the Hamburg architect André Poitiers, the transport project by the Deutsche Bahn.
